On April 29, 2011, Therin Martin, a 39-year-old resident of Temple Hills, Maryland, was found fatally shot on Branch Avenue. Prince George's County Police responded to a call reporting a shooting at approximately 3:27 p.m., where they discovered Martin suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
