In the early morning hours of Monday, April 21, 2025, violence shattered the quiet of an Alexandria, Louisiana neighborhood. Responding to reports of a shooting at approximately 4:35 AM, officers from the Alexandria Police Department arrived at the 100 block of Eastwood Boulevard to find a young man gravely wounded. Twenty-six-year-old Diamante Swaizer, a Black male, was discovered suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, and Swaizer was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Diamante Swaizer’s injuries proved to be too severe. He succumbed to the gunshot wound the following day, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at approximately 5:30 PM. His death was officially classified as a homicide, prompting an extensive investigation by the Alexandria Police Department's Detective Division.
As of now, the investigation into Diamante Swaizer's death is ongoing. Law enforcement officials have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting.
