In the late hours of a September evening in Alexandria, Louisiana, what began as a joyous family celebration ended in a devastating loss. RaKel Markez Morris, a 27-year-old Black man, was shot and killed on September 27, 2025. He had been at Super Daqz with family and friends, celebrating his sister's 35th birthday, when the fatal incident unfolded outside the establishment. The sudden violence left his loved ones heartbroken and calling for an end to such senseless acts in their community.
