In the spring of 2022, the life of 21-year-old Kengie Coutee Jr. was tragically cut short by gun violence in Alexandria, Louisiana. On Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, Coutee was fatally shot, marking a grim day in the community. The incident was not an isolated tragedy for his family. His mother, Lashanda C. Collins, endured an unimaginable loss as another of her sons, Karlin Coutee, also fell victim to gun violence within the same year.
