Melvin Jackson Jr., a 43-year-old African American man, was fatally shot on April 4, 2025, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Wheeler Avenue, where Houston Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jackson lying unresponsive in the roadway with a gunshot wound.
