On the night of January 3, 2025, 36-year-old Bradley Brantley, an African American man, was found dead in the backyard of a home on Second Avenue in Decatur, Georgia. DeKalb County Police responded to a call just after 11:20 p.m. reporting a person shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered Brantley with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
