In the summer of 2025, a tragic event unfolded in Decatur, Georgia, ending the life of 39-year-old Louis Allen. On the afternoon of Saturday, July 26th, police were called to the scene on Glenwood Road where Allen's body was discovered in an alleyway behind a Checkers restaurant. He had been fatally shot.
Investigators began to piece together the events leading to Allen's death by reviewing surveillance footage from a neighboring business.
The video revealed two male suspects arriving at the location. Following the incident, the two individuals were seen leaving in a blue and silver Volkswagen Jetta. The vehicle was distinctive due to significant damage to its windshield and a paper tag that read “Tag Applied For” duct-taped to the rear.
In the days that followed, the DeKalb County Police Department released images of the two suspects to the public in the hopes of gathering information that would lead to their identification. Despite these efforts, the names of the suspects have not been released, and they remain at large. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities have encouraged anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing those responsible for Louis Allen's death to justice. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.
