2 people are found murdered outside the Henry Doorly Zoo \u0026 Aquarium In the early morning hours of July 22, 2010, the body of 23-year-old Caucasian female Paige Miller was discovered just thirty yards from the main entrance of Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. Alongside her was the body of 43-year-old Michael Anderson. Security guards initially thought the two might be sleeping, but upon closer inspection, they found blood on the ground and realized it was a crime scene.
Police determined that both Miller and Anderson had been killed by gunshots, and there were no signs of a struggle at the scene.
Paige Miller, a mother of three, was known to work as a nightclub dancer. Friends reported that she had been struggling with drugs, and Anderson, a part-time mechanic, had a prior conviction for methamphetamine possession. The two were living together in a rental house at the time of their deaths. Just hours before she was killed, Paige had a seemingly ordinary phone conversation with her cousin, giving no indication that anything was wrong.
The investigation into the double homicide has unfortunately yielded no significant breakthroughs. Five days after the discovery of the bodies, a neighbor of the couple was arrested on unrelated drug and firearm charges. Authorities found a. 40 caliber handgun, multiple rifles and shotguns, methamphetamine, and other drugs in the neighbor's home, which was equipped with a CCTV system. People in the neighborhood had reportedly seen Miller and Anderson coming and going from this house, but no official link has ever been made between this individual and the murders.
To this day, the deaths of Paige Miller and Michael Anderson remain an unsolved mystery, leaving their families and the community without answers. Despite the passage of time and a reward of $25,000 being offered for information, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with their murders. The case is now considered a cold case, one of many that continue to haunt the city of Omaha.
