On a Tuesday evening in Washington, D.C., the sounds of gunfire shattered the night in the Petworth neighborhood. When the chaos subsided, 19-year-old Zephaniah Wright, a male resident of Northeast, D.C., was found unconscious and not breathing in the 3700 block of Georgia Avenue Northwest. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital on April 29, 2025.
