On March 19, 2025, Peggy Ann Small, a 70-year-old woman from Selma, Alabama, tragically lost her life in a shooting incident on the 2800 block of Summerfield Road. She was an unintended victim during a violent spree that began with a domestic dispute, where the suspect shot a mother and son at their home. The assailant then fled down AL-219, shooting two additional individuals, including Peggy Ann Small, who was a bystander, and a man he purportedly had a conflict with.
