In the spring of 2020, a domestic dispute in Selma, Alabama, escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 56-year-old Renesia Levon Caver and left her daughter wounded. On the evening of Saturday, April 11th, Selma police were dispatched to the 2400 block of Annie Cooper Avenue following reports of a shooting. There, they discovered that a verbal altercation between Caver and her boyfriend, Lebarron Powell, had taken a violent turn.
