On March 27, 2025, James Wright, a 35-year-old African American man from Mobile, Alabama, was tragically killed in a shooting incident in Prichard, a neighboring city. At approximately 12:30 a.m., the Mobile County Sheriff's Office responded to a homicide report at 2016 Helen Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered James Wright lying face down in the front yard, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
