On October 17, 2017, Mobile Police responded to a shooting incident at approximately 7:42 PM on General Lee Avenue in Mobile, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 45-year-old Harvey Douglas "Doug" Sumrall Jr. with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries the following day.
