Joseph Alex Ray, a white male aged 26, was last seen on July 12, 1988. His decomposed body was discovered on July 19, 1988, on the on-ramp to Interstate 64 from South Military Highway in Chesapeake, Virginia. Due to the state of decomposition, the cause of death could not be determined. The case remains active and unsolved.
