In the early hours of August 10, 2025, 28-year-old Darrien R. Duck, a male from Chesapeake, was shot multiple times during a burst of gunfire in the southern Western Branch area near the intersection of Holly Cove Drive and Schooner Trail. Officers responding just before 2:40 a.m. found Darrien R. Duck gravely wounded; he was rushed to a hospital, where he died.
