On February 26, 2004, 43-year-old white woman Donna Bennett Johnston was murdered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her body was discovered the following day in a drainage canal near Ben Hur Road, just outside the city limits. She had been strangled with a nylon zip tie and subjected to extensive post-mortem mutilation: her left arm was severed at the elbow, her breasts were slashed, her left nipple was removed, and a tattoo was cut from her right thigh.
