In the early morning darkness of August 13, 2025, 55-year-old Mirtala Orellana Ramirez was found unresponsive after a shooting at 11271 Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge. Officers arrived at about 5:46 a.m., and she was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.
