Devonte Demarcus Gillam, a 19-year-old African American male from Port Arthur, Texas, tragically lost his life on March 11, 2019. The incident occurred at the Cedar Ridge Apartments located at 7601 9th Avenue. On that fateful night, officers from the Port Arthur Police Department responded to a call at approximately 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Devonte unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.
