Sharonn LaRoyce Cole, a 41-year-old male from Port Arthur, Texas, tragically lost his life on December 2, 2018. He was found in the early hours of the morning in the 400 block of Fort Worth Avenue, near Procter Street and Club Sistah’s. Cole had been shot multiple times and was later pronounced dead at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
The investigation into Cole's death revealed that a person of interest was identified through Crime Stoppers tips and calls to the police
department. This marked the 14th homicide in Port Arthur that year, with 10 of those cases having been cleared with arrests.
In October 2021, Herbert Clark Jr., a 31-year-old male, was found guilty of shooting Cole multiple times outside Club Sistah’s. Witnesses testified that Clark and Cole had an argument in the parking lot, which escalated when Clark retrieved a gun and opened fire, emptying the entire clip. Clark was later arrested in Dallas and extradited to Jefferson County for the murder. He was sentenced to 99 years in prison and fined $10,000.
Cole's death was a tragic event that shook the community, and the subsequent legal proceedings brought some measure of justice for his family and friends.
