On July 4, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Port Arthur Police responded to a reported shooting at a garage apartment in the 3400 block of 6th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased individuals: 22-year-old Alfred Glenn Scott Jr. of Port Arthur and 24-year-old Corneileous Jarod Jones of Cypress. Both men had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. One body was found at the base of the stairs leading to the apartment, and the other inside the residence.
