In the quiet morning of May 17, 1996, a dedicated 48-year-old male Metro Nashville Police Officer, Francis Paul Scurry, responded to a call that would tragically be his last. A veteran of the force for 21 years and a U.S. Army veteran, he was backing up two detectives serving an aggravated assault warrant at an apartment in Madison.
