On January 2, 2023, 42-year-old Demarcus A. Mallory was found deceased in the driver's seat of a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu in North Nashville. The vehicle was located in the yard of a vacant residence on the 2200 block of 15th Avenue North. Residents had reported hearing gunshots in the area between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., and the car, with its lights on, was observed in the yard for several hours before authorities arrived around 11:40 p.m.
