In a tragic turn of events, Andre Cooper, a 26-year-old Black male, was fatally shot during a home invasion in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 8, 2015. The incident unfolded at his residence on Kings Lane, where he was confronted by an armed intruder. Investigators believe that Cooper was the specific target of the robbery.
The investigation into Cooper's death led authorities to 21-year-old Terry E. Fisher, Jr., a man who was already on probation for a prior robbery conviction.
Crucial DNA evidence collected from the crime scene directly linked Fisher to the murder. Adding to the evidence, Cooper's girlfriend, who was present during the home invasion, was able to identify Fisher from a photo lineup provided by the police.
At the time the murder warrant was issued, Fisher was already incarcerated for a probation violation. He was subsequently charged with criminal homicide for the death of Andre Cooper. Following the legal proceedings, Fisher was found guilty of the homicide. His probation for the previous robbery was revoked, and he was sentenced for the murder.
