In the early hours of August 16, 2024, the life of 41-year-old James B. Cox III, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Nashville's Edgehill neighborhood. The incident unfolded around 12:30 a.m. on Deford Bailey Avenue, where Cox was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for medical attention but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
