In the summer of 2014, the life of 35-year-old Adairus Franklin Scooter Boatwright-Sligh was cut short in an act of violence that unfolded outside a Knoxville, Tennessee nightclub. The male victim was shot and killed on July 26, 2014, in the courtyard of Studio X on Cumberland Avenue, an area also known as 'The Strip'. The shooting not only claimed Boatwright-Sligh's life but also resulted in injuries to four bystanders who were caught in the crossfire.
