Detective James Kenneth Kennedy, aged 29, was shot and killed on March 27, 1984, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Kennedy, who was a male of Caucasian ethnicity, served with the Knox County Sheriff's Office and had previously worked with the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia.
