In the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the life of 19-year-old Laurice D. Pate, a Black male from Indianapolis, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded on the city's east side, in the 100 block of South Gladstone Avenue, near the intersection of East Washington Street and Sherman Drive. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene around 3:30 a.m. following reports of a shooting.
