On the evening of August 2, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at a residence on White Oak Hill Road in Poland, Maine, resulting in the death of 51-year-old Richard "Rick" E. Tayman Jr. of Oxford. The incident, which took place at approximately 7:50 p.m., prompted an investigation by the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South in collaboration with the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office.
