On July 6, 2014, 37-year-old Jeffrey M. Lude of Biddeford, Maine, was fatally shot alongside 42-year-old Russell Lavoie of Old Orchard Beach. The incident occurred inside an apartment at 19 Western Avenue in Biddeford. Both men succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds; Lavoie died in an ambulance at the scene, while Lude was pronounced dead at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
