On November 30, 2013, 22-year-old Matthew Steven Rairdon was tragically killed in a murder-suicide in Westbrook, Maine. Rairdon, a recent graduate of Saint Joseph's College with a nursing degree, was employed as an emergency room nurse at Mercy Hospital in Portland. He was known for his dedication to his patients and had recently been credited with saving the life of an elderly woman in the emergency room.
