Eric Jermaine Allen, a 39-year-old African American man from Nashville, TN, tragically died on May 23, 2017. His death was the result of a fatal shooting involving a Mt. Juliet police officer during a traffic stop. The incident occurred on November 2, 2022, when Allen was the passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for a minor traffic violation.
