Gregory Howard, a 37-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on August 25, 2017, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was visiting Memphis to participate in a law enforcement basketball tournament when he was caught in a crossfire outside the Mynt Lounge nightclub. Howard, a nine-year veteran of the New Orleans Fire Department, was an innocent bystander when at least two men who had been kicked out of the club began shooting. One of the bullets struck and killed him.
