George Daniel Talley, a 62-year-old man from Hermitage, TN, died on October 4, 2017, from gunshot wounds sustained during a dispute between neighbors in South Nashville. Talley was fatally shot while at the home of his 31-year-old son, Matthew Talley, at 3526 Couchville Pike. The incident occurred during an ongoing dispute between Talley's son and their neighbor, Joseph Scott Drummond, 53. Both men claimed they fired in self-defense during the altercation.
