In the fall of 2022, the life of a young, aspiring rapper from Nashville, Tennessee, was tragically cut short. Eighteen-year-old Isaac Brown was found deceased on October 19, 2022, on Fairwin Avenue in the eastern part of the city. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head, and his death was officially ruled a homicide by authorities.
Isaac was last seen getting into a vehicle in the Madison area, a short distance from the music studio where he was passionately pursuing his
dreams. His mother, Shameka Brown, has been a vocal advocate for justice for her son, actively seeking information from the community to help piece together the events that led to his untimely death. She remembers him as a young man with big dreams, who had just turned eighteen and was dedicated to his music.
The investigation into Isaac's murder, led by Homicide Unit Detective Arthur Hipp, explored a potential drug-related motive. The dedicated work of law enforcement led to a significant development in the case. On February 2, 2023, detectives arrested 19-year-old Brian Sutton Jr. and charged him with the murder of Isaac Brown. Investigators were able to connect Sutton to the crime through evidence obtained from his cell phone records and his vehicle. Sutton is currently being held without bond as he awaits a hearing. The investigation remains active as authorities continue to work towards bringing closure to Isaac's family.
