In the early evening of September 30, 2013, Lejuan A. Evans, a 29-year-old African-American man, was fatally wounded in what Nashville police described as a targeted attack. The shooting occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. in the Cheatham Place public housing development, specifically in the 1600 block of Delta Avenue. Evans, a resident of Taylor Street, was struck by multiple gunshots.
