On a summer afternoon in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the life of 28-year-old Tracy Calloway was violently cut short in a hail of gunfire. On July 21, 2019, Calloway was the target of a drive-by shooting on Trailwood Drive, an attack so intense that his vehicle was riddled with bullet holes, ultimately crashing in the front yard of a nearby home. Despite the efforts of neighbors and paramedics who found him still breathing, Calloway succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation into
the brazen daytime shooting led to the indictment of four men on charges of premeditated first-degree murder: Antonio Dewayne Watkins, Jamaichel Antron Smith, Prandel Fitzgerald Reid, Jr., and Gary Dyquanne Cross. Witnesses described a terrifying scene where two men exited a minivan and opened fire, while a third remained in the driver's seat. In a mere 25 seconds, over 80 rounds were discharged, leaving a scene littered with 64 shell casings and bullet projectiles.
