In the early morning hours of a Sunday in Nashville, Tennessee, the life of 19-year-old Antwan Palmer Jr. was tragically cut short. On December 6, 2020, the young man was found inside a wrecked vehicle in the 900 block of Murfreesboro Pike. Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to the scene of the crash at approximately 3:30 a.m. and discovered Palmer in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound.
Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger in the vehicle with Palmer was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries she sustained in the crash.
Homicide detectives investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting determined that prior to the fatal incident, Palmer had been with a group of people in the parking lot behind Club Premium, located at 833 Murfreesboro Pike. It was in this parking lot that shots were fired, and Palmer was struck by the gunfire. In an attempt to flee the scene, the wounded teenager drove away, only to crash his vehicle a short distance from where the shooting occurred.
The investigation into the death of Antwan Palmer Jr. was launched by the Homicide Unit of the Metro Nashville Police Department. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement officials appealed to the public for assistance, asking anyone with information regarding the fatal shooting to contact Crime Stoppers. To date, there has been no publicly released information regarding any arrests made or suspects identified in connection with the murder of Antwan Palmer Jr. The case remains an open investigation as his family and community await answers in the search for those responsible for his death.
