In a tragic turn of events on a Sunday evening in Nashville, a domestic dispute proved fatal for Leslie Yount. The 44-year-old woman was found by responding Midtown Hills Precinct officers inside an apartment at 301 28th Avenue North with a single gunshot wound to her abdomen. The incident, which occurred around 8:40 p.m. on February 2, 2025, stemmed from an argument over money.
Yount was critically injured and transported to a local hospital, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries
and passed away. At the scene, officers encountered her boyfriend, 64-year-old Ray Greer. According to police reports, Greer admitted to shooting Yount during their altercation.
Following the incident, Ray Greer was taken into custody. He was initially charged with attempted criminal homicide. However, with Leslie Yount's death, authorities stated that the charges against him were expected to be upgraded. Greer was subsequently jailed on an $80,000 bond as he awaited further legal proceedings.
