In the early morning hours of September 28, 2015, the life of 36-year-old Samantha Crumpton, a mother of two teenage children, was tragically cut short inside her own apartment in South Nashville, Tennessee. Residing in the Waterford Crossings apartment complex on Old Franklin Road, Crumpton was fatally shot.
Her boyfriend, Marcus A. Lewis, was identified as the individual who fired the weapon. Lewis claimed to have mistaken Crumpton for an intruder.
He told authorities that he believed his girlfriend was at work when he heard a noise, which prompted him to shoot. At the time of the incident, Crumpton's two children were at school.
Following the shooting, Marcus A. Lewis was arrested and charged with criminal homicide in the death of his girlfriend, Samantha Crumpton.
