In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Nashville, Tennessee, the life of 33-year-old Heather May Probst was tragically cut short. On March 2, 2022, a neighbor discovered Probst inside her apartment in the Edgehill area, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Her infant daughter was found asleep and unharmed in a nearby bedroom.
During the on-scene investigation at the 12th Avenue South apartment, homicide detectives noticed a man on foot nearby.
His clothing matched the description of a person seen on surveillance footage leaving Probst's apartment around the time the murder was believed to have occurred. Authorities detained the individual, identified as 18-year-old David Lamont Clark, and transported him to police headquarters for questioning.
In an interview with detectives, Clark admitted to his involvement in Probst's death. He confessed to shooting her during the course of an argument. Following his admission, Clark provided investigators with information that led to the recovery of the firearm used in the shooting. Homicide detectives subsequently charged David Lamont Clark with criminal homicide for the fatal shooting of Heather May Probst.
