In Nashville, Tennessee, on October 17, 2019, a 30-year-old Black / African American woman named Temptress "Chippie" Peebles was shot and killed outside of her Morena Street home. The incident unfolded in the afternoon as Peebles was arguing with her ex-boyfriend, Brandon Horton, who was also 30 at the time. Tragically, Peebles' 8-year-old daughter witnessed the shooting. After being shot, Peebles was found lying in the street, and her daughter ran to a neighbor's house for help.
