On May 10, 2015, Joy Ransom, a 52-year-old African American woman, was found deceased in her apartment on Jefferson Street in Nashville, Tennessee. Her body was discovered by family members, and the circumstances indicated she had been brutally beaten and sexually assaulted. The case remained unsolved for four years, leaving her family and the community in search of answers.
