On a summer day in 2021, a dispute behind a residence on Pond Rail Road in Dickson County, Tennessee, ended in the tragic death of Cuornisha Kenya Northington, a 38-year-old African American woman from Nashville. On July 31st, Northington was fatally shot. The incident led to the arrest of 41-year-old Lamisha Haynes, who was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. Authorities discovered a firearm at the scene of the incident.
