On August 15, 2020, Jael Findlay, a 21-year-old African American woman from North Lauderdale, Florida, was found dead following a traffic crash in Pompano Beach. The incident occurred around 3:19 a.m. in the 2900 block of Northwest 27th Avenue. Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene and discovered Findlay with injuries that initially appeared to be from the crash.
