Candice McKinney, a 35-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot to death in her North Lauderdale apartment on March 28, 2016. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. at her residence on the 1100 block of Cove Lake Road. At the time of the shooting, Candice's 18-year-old son, Kareem Barnett, was also present and sustained injuries. He was flown to Broward Health North medical center for treatment.
