Candice McKinney, a 35-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot to death in her North Lauderdale apartment on March 28, 2016. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. at her residence on the 1100 block of Cove Lake Road. At the time of the shooting, Candice's 18-year-old son, Kareem Barnett, was also present and sustained injuries. He was flown to Broward Health North medical center for treatment. Fortunately, Candice's toddler son, Logan, who was also in the apartment, was unharmed. ...
