Charity Hope Adams, a 41-year-old woman from Nashville, TN, tragically lost her life on November 27, 2016. She was fatally shot in a triple shooting outside a home on St. Louis Street in North Nashville. Adams was visiting her boyfriend, Kenneth Pullens, 26, and Chad Steven Miller, 33, when the incident occurred. The shooter, described as a black man with dreads wearing black clothing, fled the scene in a silver Chevrolet Malibu.
The Metro Nashville Police Department launched an
investigation into the shooting. They identified 24-year-old Michael J. Woods Jr. as a person of interest. Woods had prior convictions for felony cocaine possession and unlawful gun possession and was also wanted on warrants for three counts of felony aggravated assault from a separate incident. Police continued to investigate the motive behind the shooting and sought information about Woods' whereabouts.
The shooting marked the second fatal incident outside Miller's home in just over a month. On October 24, 2016, Robert Richardson, 24, was killed after driving to Saint Louis Street to pick up Miller. Detectives were investigating whether the two shootings were linked.
