On October 8, 2017, 16-year-old Deberianah Begley, a sweet and energetic girl from Nashville, TN, was tragically killed in a shooting at the James Cayce public housing development. Begley, who was known by her nickname "Nunue," was outside her home, laughing and dancing on her porch when gunfire erupted between two groups of young men in the courtyard. As she tried to run for cover, she was struck by a bullet and later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
