On February 17, 2014, Shavonda Hodge, a 23-year-old African-American woman, was fatally shot in North Nashville. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. when the sound of gunfire echoed in the vicinity of 547 Vanderhorst Drive.
Responding to the reports, police officers arrived to a grim discovery in a parking lot: Shavonda Hodge had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
In the wake of her violent death, an investigation was launched to uncover the circumstances and identify those responsible. However, despite the initial efforts of law enforcement, the case grew cold, and no arrests have been made in connection with her murder.
