In a somber turn of events in Nashville, Tennessee, Irene Bond, a 45-year-old woman, was found deceased on January 2, 2023. Her life was cut short in what homicide detectives are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide.
The tragic discovery was made inside a room at the DoubleTree Hotel on 4th Avenue North. A hotel staff member entered the room at approximately 2:30 p.m. and found Ms. Bond, who had been fatally shot. Also in the room was Geremy Causey, 31, of Shelby County. Investigators believe Causey, who was identified as Bond's boyfriend, was the perpetrator.
Evidence found at the scene suggests that Causey's injuries were consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A semi-automatic pistol was found near him. The investigation revealed that the hotel room's access card was last used at 3 a.m. the previous day. At the time of the initial reports, authorities were in the process of notifying the families of both individuals. No arrests were made as the sole suspect in Irene Bond's death was also deceased.
Irene Bond was a mother to four children: Phillip Bond, Jacob Bond, Teriona Williams, and Isaiah Williams, and a grandmother to Nova Bond. She was remembered as an accomplished individual who had a diverse career as an Evangelist, Emergency Room Nurse, business owner, Life Coach, and author, and had also worked in Nurse Administration. She held a Master's degree from Strayer University and was a graduate of Northside High School, West Tennessee Business College, and the Jackson State Community College Nursing Program.
