On September 6, 2024, 30-year-old Autumn Suzanne Joiner was fatally shot in the apartment she shared with her boyfriend, Jack Becker, in Nashville, Tennessee. Becker, aged 26, initially called 911, reporting that Joiner had shot herself in the head while they were in bed.

Upon further questioning, Becker altered his account, claiming that his finger had slipped into the trigger guard of a pistol, causing it to discharge accidentally.
